Why Has Thief Taken So Long?

Do You Remember May 11th, 2009?

If you're a Thief fan you should. Eidos Montreal announced that it was working on a second AAA Eidos franchise (the other was Deus Ex 3) that started with the letter "T". Finally on May 11th, 2009 an announcement was made by the general manager of Eidos Montreal, Stephane D'Astous that EM was in fact working on Thi4f.

After that announcement Eidos Montreal became very quiet about Thief 4 and instead focused on publicizing information on Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In fact no real statement was issued on the game until recently. Watch the video to find out why the next installment has taken so long to surface.

Game Informer has been covering the recent unmasking of Thief in their latest issue as well as on their website.

Stay tuned as I cover Game Informer's web reveal and issue in the upcoming days.

Launch of Chateau Garrett

Come out of the shadows and visit Chateau Garrett: a place for like-minded people who have invested chunks of their lives playing the Thief games.

Follow Chateau Garrett here and on twitter. The site will be updated daily with discussion and commentary on the Thief franchise as well as news on the newest installment of the series from Eidos Montreal.

I'm hoping the community will contribute to this site and help build it into a hub of activity much like the forums that are already up. Some of you may know me from the TTLG Forums or the Eidos Forums as Mshade. I'm not a huge poster but I read almost everything.

Hopefully if the site grows to what I want it to be I can organize interviews with member of the development teams from the different games as well as organize giveaways to followers of the site.

Please comment on what you'd like to see on the site and hope to be interacting with all you soon.
